I'm so sorry Nicole.
My old girl Tika(GSD/Aussie) had that and she lived for over a year after it was discovered. We did surgery to remove the largest tumor behind her front leg, but honestly the recovery was very hard on her. However that was over 6 years ago, so I'm sure that they have better options now. S
ending you all hugs and positive thoughts.
Hey Moni,
I'm glad to hear this. I don't know if he can remove her tumor. The largest ones are in her neck. He didn't mention it as an option. He said that we can give her some injections that have very little side effects. He thinks that will wipe everything out, and then we can go from there.
Mark and I discussed it over breakfast, and we're going to give her the treatment and see how she does. As long as she keeps feeling well, which she does, we'll keep treating her. I've read that dogs with this respond pretty well to low doses of Vitamin C. I just went and got some, and when they get back from the beach with dad, I'll start her on it.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and wishes. I just can't believe that we are going through this! It doesn't seem fair. But, you know, I just think that we're all so lucky to have gotten to spend any time together at all. Poor girl. She could have lived out the rest of her days sad and alone at the pound. At least here she has love, food and her daddy who she is freaking OBSESSED with.
