Merri did it!!!

Ok Merri got her last point. She is now Ch.Pendouglas Penhyan Merrifield. I bailed and hired a pro. I needed him to get that point for me. And he did. Tripper was a honey too. Maybe tomorrow he'll get his firts point. Took a couple of pics but the camera is crap. I'll post again tomorrow. Wish us luck!

That is so awesome!!!!  Good for Merri!!  I am curious as to what you think the difference is with you and the handler?  I've always wondered that, my mom used to show too and I always wondered why some people opted for a handler, just curious.

I used a pro because the judges know them. I'm pretty new to the sog show world and still unknown. I usually do my own, but this was an important weekend because she is retirering from the show word. Conformation anyway. I can now have her spayed and move on to obedience titles. I put most of her points on her myself though.

I guess it starts with a dog or puppy that you can show. This meaning that it has to be a registerd dog with either the AKC or CKC. From there if the dog is showable, no faults and is to the breed standard then you can chow the dog. You can read up on the dog show world on the AKC website. It has alot of good information for beginners like myself.
