Prayers for my birdie!
« on: February 06, 2006, 07:15:20 pm »
We just got a bird today, he's a rescue from my mom's friend's mother. She's going into assisted living because she has alzheimer's. Well the bird has a wing infection and has been eating only sun flower seed so he's very unhealthy, he'll be at the vet's for a long time, but the vet doesn't think he'll live  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

His name is Sparky and he's a 15 year old African Grey.

Oh my gosh, he's so young!  Poor guy, I will be thinking about him and praying for a miracle.

I've always wanted to get an african grey, but b/c they live so long I've always been a bit hesitant.

Poor baby!  But maybe with a new and loving home, he'll pull through.  Fingers crossed and prayers said!!!

My love goes out to you and the birdie.  Birds are really tough and learn how to survive on their own at a very young age for a verity of reasons.  Hope things work out.

I own two cockatoos myself and have had many friends in the "birdie business" and have seen miracles happen.  Trust me....it's not over til the birdie stops singing!!  My prayers are with the little guy....and believe me....prayers have been some of the miracles I have seen with those birdies!!  I had a little birdie in my hands belly side up and head hanging and prayers are only thing that could have saved that little bird....but it did and she went on to live 2 more years!!!!
