Great Dane Pictures / Re: Wet dog days
« on: May 21, 2005, 07:23:39 pm »
We take Leo to the groomer or the dog wash down the street.  Right now it's so rainy here that I couldn't do it outside without getting wet and cold myself!  He loves the blow dryer!  There is no way I could do it inside because he's way too big and his hair would clog the pipes instantly!  Then there is also cleaning the ears...  I fill them up, rub in around, and run like heck to get as far away as possible before he shakes it all over the place!  Don't ya just love it?

That is too funny!  We are almost done shedding here, thank goodness!  I wonder how many pounds of hair I have swallowed...

I can totally relate! Whenever we go to Petco people just stare and don't really know what to say!  They have their little doggies with them in the shopping cart and they do the same!  My kids are in Karate and sometimes I'll take Leo and watch from the window outside and I've had people ask to take their picture with him too.  He is really good especially when there are all these little kids in white mobbing him!  Some people refuse to get close to him though because of his size and I feel bad for them because I know they are afraid.  If they only knew what a big dopey boy puppy he is!

Hi there!  I noticed you have a Saint who is gorgeous!  I just joined this board too and haven't gotten much done around the house since!  I'm trying to catch up and get to know everyone!  There are some really nice and funny people here with gorgeous furkids.  I hope to chat soon!

That is sooo funny!  I know what you mean, though.  Leo is always showing me his lipstick and I have three kids who think it's hilarious!  It makes for uncomfortable situations when strangers stop to pet him and out pops mr. happy!  My husband tried telling him that it was tiney thinking he would give him a complex about it and maybe he would stop.  No luck.  But Leo is fixed and he doesn't hump on anything, so I don't know what to tell you there, but I feel your pain about the lipstick!

Food Discussion & Information / Re: Eating Habits
« on: May 19, 2005, 08:56:24 pm »
When we feed Leo we put in on a plate instead of a dish so he can't knock it over and he can see around him while he eats.  The plate sits on a little stool so it's higher up for him too.  He is a gentle eater though and doesn't push the plate when he eats so there is little mess.  That is until he goes for his water and then it's game over, grab a towel, quick!  I know how frusterating it is when they tip over the bowl!  My two legged son did the same thing when he was little and I used to get sooo frusterated!  Good luck!

Hello Marit!  I gotta tell you, I love your Mastiff!  We were MacTaggart Mastiff foamers for about a year wanting one!  But Leo was meant for us and we couldn't be happier.  My husband still wants a mastiff so you never know!  I like the attention we get when we go out in public and so does Leo.  Pork chops await me!  Talk to you later!

Thanks for the welcome!  I'm still trying to navigate my way around this site!  How old is Angus?  He is adorable!  Well, at some point I need to break myself away from this site and take care of my humans!  Thanks again for the response!

Hi Everyone!  My name is Natalie and I  just came across this great site and already addicted!  I'm sitting here listening to my snoring St. Bernard, Leo, who is 2 years old.  I'm excited to meet some Saint owners and compare stories and this sounds like a great place to do that!  Well, have a great day Everyone!
