It was SOOOO much fun seeing them all live!  I 'had' ::) ::) to walk Paco, the Newf, around for the hours before he went in to the ring to get some of the p*ss and vinegar out of him since his breeder has a torn rotator cuff and can't control him when he pulls his puppy antics.  There were so many magnificent pyrs and Saints!!! There were a couple of Anatolian shepards next to us that were magnificent!!  I loved looking at them all.  Paco and I met so many wonderful people and the AKC used him at a "meet the breed" so lots and lots of people got to pet him.  Once he went for his final grooming, there was no more touching him

All 3 are so handsome, what great pictures!!! How did Paco do at the show?

Thanks!

Paco didn't win, but the breeder really didn't expect him to since he's SOO young (he and Chester will be 2 in February) and all the other Newfs were between 4 and 6 years old.  Because of Paco's age and qualifying so early, he's automatically invited again next year so Chester will get to see his brother again!  It was fun to have them and watch a Newfie-rumble!!

Here's a couple of pictures from the meeting of the brothers:  Chester and Paco.  They had SO much fun!  Chester DID remember his brother and his breeders!  There was a lot of running, romping, rolling and woofing until Paco had to get beautified for the Eukanuba show.  Once that was done, there was no more play time for Paco.  It's a hard life, being a show dog!  I think, all in all, that Chester and Cowboy have a much more fun life!

Nina has it right!  He sounds like he's going to be a big boy but be careful about his growing too fast.  His joints won't be strong enough to support such a big boy!  He should be on an adult food with low protein (preferably under 22%) and low fat until he's at least 18 months.  Slow growth is far better than fast.

The picture of him is adorable!!

Watch for Chester's brother "Tijuana Taxi", one of the two browns in the ring!  Hopefully they will show the Newfs!!  There is a difference between my wild child and his gorgeous brother....I'll post the pictures tomorrow!!

Chester's brother didn't win, but he was also the youngest, by far in the ring.  He's 19 months and the next closest in age was 4.  He had a great time though (bouncing around!!) and will be invited back next year so maybe he'll have better luck!

It's amazing!! I've often wondered what I would do if Cowboy seized while we were out...and I just decided not to think about it!  You have a much better solution.

How often does she seize?  What drugs is she on?

Thanks!  I feel the same way.  There have been times that BPO has threatened baseball bats....and I think this should be one of those times!   >:(

I'm in So. Calif., so not any help either, but I do think it's important to get this message out to those who might be in the area.

I think it's a great idea!  I'm in Southern Calif and it's COLD (for here...)  Forties at night and sixties during the day!  The Newfs are in heaven, though!!!

Can I tell you how much I hate people like this?  There just has to be a very special place in h*ll for these people!! >:(

Please Cross Post

Shelters/rescuers, Tony & Rebecca Williams (e-mail: JaRuleW@... ) claim to have a rescue in Rocky Mount, NC and are trying to get dogs from all over the Eastern Seaboard. (She offered to take 14 dogs since Monday.) She continues to take dogs. Most are pit bulls, with some offers to adopt
Presa Canarios, Rottweilers, Dobermans, and Wolf hybrids. In addition, she had previously posted that her roommate was looking for a Great Dane or Great Dane mix. She also posted that she was "desperate" for a Chihuahua and she really wanted a Mini Pin and a Jack Russell. She claims her rescue is a pit bull rescue, but another pit rescuer called the local Animal Control.

Animal Control's comments:
"She's been barred from taking any dogs from the shelters in her area." He also said she has a long criminal history, has been selling Pit Bulls on street corners for 15 or 20 dollars and has been under investigation for dog fighting. Atlantic Rescue has now banned her, after finding out this
information. These are the breeds she has asked for:
a. Pit Bulls
b. Rottwiellers
c. Dobermans
d. Presa Canarios
e. Tea Cup Chihuahuas
f. Jack Russell Terriers
g. Shar Peis
h. Min Pin
i. Great Dane (Pure Breed or Mix)
She uses the little dogs as bait! Please cross post. They are going
out of their area looking for dogs to adopt.

Oh Chester, I am so proud of you!  Jackie is, too, and says "Welcome to the wonderful world of therapy visits".

Nice job!  It sounds like he's ready...But now, you'll be bathing TWO newfs on visit day.   :o   ;)

Julie

:P :P   I know!!!  Cowboy is easy, but bathing a moving target like Chester is a WHOLE other problem!!! :P :P

Hahahahaha, are they cuddlers?  See pics.

Seriously, Jack adores my husband and is on top of him at all times.  I know he loves me but I am not his choice for a snuggle partner.  He prefers Daddy.

OMG!!!  That last picture is ABSOLUTELY a riot!!!  Funniest thing I've ever seen!  The look on both guys faces is priceless!!!

WOW!!!!  :D Way to go Chester-bo-bester! That is sooooo cool. I bet you were the proudest fur-mama ever.  ;D  I would be! So, when's he gonna take his test????

The Newf Club usually has a TDI/CGC test in the spring.  I think this is the year we'll go for it!  I honestly thought that he was just too uncontrolled.. ..but he proved me wrong!!!

Cowboy and I were scheduled to work in the mental ward of one of the hospitals in which we volunteer.  The staff gets so excited when we drive up that usually someone comes right out to meet us.  Chester always goes for the ride but never in the hospital because he hasn't taken his TDI test yet.  The staff was so excited to see the puppy that the begged to take Chester in as well as Cowboy and Chester was AWESOME!!!  He marched through the halls, tail gently wagging and was so sweet and calm with everyone that he met.  He was loved and hugged by SOOO many people.  I was so proud of him!!!  He wasn't at all the wild child that he can be.  YEA!  Maybe he is ready to take the test after all!!!

YIPPPPEEEE!
