so last night i took Grace to Riverside Park. It was a warm night. I wore my comfy shorts which have no pockets. I tie my keys with the waist band string and we go, my keys safely in tow and jingling around my belly.
well, me and Grace waundered as we do. We climbed up and down the bank of the river, through the baseball field and around the old RR bridge.
it started getting dark around 7:30 so we made our way back to the Jeep. Slowly, we explored the river bank in the light of dusk, cuz you know it smells different that time of day.
i got back to the Jeep and reached for my keys so i could pop open the hatch, load up the dog and zip through McDy's for ice cream.
THE KEYS WERE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my GOD! My keys. Grace, the keys.
Luckily i keep a spare set safely locked in the Jeep just in case i happen to loose the only other set i have. and the house keys are locked in the Jeep too.
I crack the windows most of the time and we found a stick to pry open the window and to reach the electric lock with. Too bad it's dark and i can't see the switch and i hadn't cracked the window enough.
A guy fishing worked his way over to see what i was doing. He saw Grace and made a point to make friends with her first and then went looking for a longer stick to help.
We were thinking when my horn started to beep. Oh no! If things could get worse, they just did. Now my horn won't shut up.
A voice from behind called out, "you probably need these!"
MY KEYS!!!!!!!!! The lady had my keys. She found them in the dark, two kids and a dog in tow, at a bench 1/2 mile back.
i thanked everyone and opened the Jeep, popped the dog in the back and off we went.
The misadventures of Lin and Grace continue.
