Ferrets do stink and bite.  But they are not as stinky as my daughters 5 sugargliders.  They are stinky.  And a little freaky looking.  I have to feed them while she is gone for the next week....  They move a litle fast and freak me out.  I guess I really am more of a dog and cat person

I had a bunny.  Very cute named IGGY.  Iggy was litter trained and ran free in the house.  Chewed all the wires to everything.  My new TV, VCR (didn't have cd's then), Stereo, atari (remeber those?).  I gave that bunny to my sister.....Ver y Evil

Treatment & Preventative Meds / Re: Gastropexy - to tac or not to tac

Yes , will have it done when she is spayed.  I know that it doesn't prevent bloat.  But that can be managable.  I have heard gas-x works the best.  One of the nurses I work with has a dane and she has a bloat kit.  If it looks like there is a problem she can drop an oral gastric tube to help relieve the pressure and but her some time.  I can do the same I put them in humans so a little instruction from the vet and that will help.  But for the torsion then I think the gastropexy is the best answer.  My breeder said she has heard that sometimes they don't last.

I haven't been here very long and don't even have my big paw yet, but I love to hear all the stories and look at all the pics.... It is a very positive place.  Mostly everyone seems very happy.  I like that!

We have a Newf Therapy dog aat the hospital I work at - she is so great!!!  Her name is Sally and I just love her.  And the patients just love her - especially the kids.  It was a huge toss up for ne trying to decide between a Newf and a GD. They are both such great companions.  The pics are realy cute!!!

I had an accident of a similar sort with my kids guinea pigs.  I was spraying the house for bugs and put the little pigs outside so the fumes wouldn't bother them.  I put them in the shade with plenty of water and wasn't gone too long.  When I came back they were dead.  I felt soooo bad.  cried...  My kids were devestated

Maybe he is just protecting you.  Strange dog coming towards Mommy.  My little male 5 lb Pom is pretty good with other dogs he is introduced to but put him on a leash and you would think he bulked up and extra 100lbs.  Everytime a dog passes he is lunging, growling, snapping, snarling.  It is awful!!

I hate people who walk there dogs off leash in a populated neighborhood.  This lady up the street walks her dogs without a leash and they always come up to my gate and proceed to have a shouting match with my dogs between the fence.  Sometimes it happens at 730 in the am on Sunday....Hate it!!!!

Just wanted to know what everyone thought about Gastropexy?  Will have to have  my girl spayed and am thinking about having it done for a prevenitive bloat measure.
