Come on Melissa, Bava will look great in pinestraw.  The photos of Bear are great.

What beautiful shots! Thanks for the inspiration :) (must find leaves minus pinestraw:) )

Where do we find leaves that look that good around here??? lol... they go directly from green to brown in this neck of the woods!  Seriously though, those pics are great.

What do you like least?

Oh no... this is cruel... I just left a big ol' Appy at the Lucedale auction and now I have to excercise more self-control...  ::)

100% (Dixie).  Is General Lee your grandfather?

I guess living in Mobile and spending summers in Charleston sealed it for me!   ;D

Poor fellow... here's hoping for a speedy recovery.  The boys wanted me to suggest that a steak might help to take his mind off of things while he's recuperating   ;D .

Welcome!  I'm in Mobile with a foundling rott-chow mix, Puck (4 y/o), a rescued dane Feste (18 mos) and and a foster lab/dane Chance (18 mos & will be formally adopted as his X-mas present).  This is a great bunch of people, and we seem to have a fair number of folks on from our little neck of paradise.

Being a little on the goofy side and riddiculously busy lately, I forgot to send any pics of the boys.  I like option 2, but regardless of which outcome I  will still buy a calendar ( or 2).  The idea for a planner calendar is a great one, maybe something to consider for the next iteration of the BPO calendar.  And Jaime, don't worry about the mix-up, we all get sideways with so much going on... it's just great that y'all put so much effort into making this a great communitywith so much to offer!

He's a gorgeous fellow.  Only you can know if the time is right.  I will say that I only lasted about a month after my beloved Alexander the Great passed away before I ran across Feste. I still miss Alex, but Feste has really enriched my life in his on way.

Collars, crates, & other cool things / Re: Really Cool Portable Crate
« on: November 21, 2005, 12:25:49 am »
Saw this Crate at the dog show this weekend.. It was awesome. It had a very large dane in it, and the lady who owned him was very petite, she just carried the crate with the shoulder strap out slung over her shoulder when the show was over.

This was the cheapest place I could find the big one at:

ok... would it pass the 'Feste' test?

Like was previously mentioned, the big thing it to watch the protein content...25% or less is a must, so if you can find a premium large breed puppy that offers that % or below and the suppliments, then that should do fine.  Did the breeder where you got maggie from have any brand suggestions?  do you know what she was being fed there?
I feed mine Diamond Large Breed... has all the suppliments, high quality and reasonably ( for premium food) priced.  I've been using that brand for a pretty good while now and am pleased with the results.
I've asked a co-worker of mine in St. Louis to check with his vet to see if there is one up there that specializes in Giant breeds.  If he comes back with a name, I'll post it here tomorrow.
Good Luck.
