Your vet sounds awesome! I hope that lady learned a valuable lesson that will keep her dog safe in future encounters with other animals. Sadly, I doubt she did... Give Kira a hug from Tani and Kai, and tell her that she shouldn't loose any sleep over that crazy lady's freak out.

I don't have any suggestions for employment - except maybe e bay? That's lame, but it might be something. You could use part of your $40 to scout out yard sales and thrift shops, and if you find a great deal resell it on ebay. I had a friend that did that and she did well, but it kind of seemed like a hassle to me. I finally quit work after I had my last kid and it has been over two years already. I LOVE it, but it's really important to stay connected to friends and other adults. Make sure you get to get out without the baby and have time with other adults! And, enjoy every single minute of your son! I have been both a working mom and a stay at home mom. All my kids are awesome, and my daycare kids didn't "suffer" in the least from me working. Personally, though, I love being able to not work. And, you can save money in creative ways if you really take a look at your expenses. Things like cell phone plans (lower the minutes), cable bill (cut premium channels) - even adjusting your thermostat by just a degree or two can lower your power bill significantly. Oh, I used to live near a nice consignment shop where I could take my kids outgrown clothes and toys and get store credit for "new" (used) stuff. You will make it work! Good luck!

Hi and welcome! I'm Ali, and my gang is listed below. Oh, and I, too, am a member of the 4 children club! You don't run into us very often! I see many three kid families, but rarely a four or more. In fact, today was our "family picture day" at the portrait studio. I know you're feelin' my pain. My youngest is TWO. Now I know you're feelin' my pain!

Oh my gosh! "Harping" is so not the appropriate word! Huge chunk of you life through life changing illness and WAR - no good closure, jeez I could go on and on. You have to process this stuff however you can so that you can move on. You're totally right to let yourself feel the feelings. Hopefully your boyfriend is being kind and supportive? Or does he not know how upset you are? Hang in there...If you believe that everything happens for a reason, maybe there is comfort there.  :-*

Hooray for you! A new pup on the way! Tani, my mutt, is about 4, and we recently added Kai, a 4 month old mutt. I have found that, although Tani is a very gentle soul and an amazingly sweet girl, she has had her limits tested TO THE MAX by Kai. On two occasions, Tani bloodied Kai's muzzle because she had had enough of the ear biting, neck biting, ankle biting nonsense. I've had to separate the girls, and supervise their play more closely than I supervise my skin kids! I would not recommend that the pup be unsupervised with Marley based on my own personal experience. And really, Tani is such a mush - the times that Kai has yelped and come to me dripping blood, Tani has had the most pathetic mopey sad look on her face. She is so sorry! So, I try really hard not to put her in that position anymore.

Welcome! Do you have any paws of your own at home? What is your film about?

Wow! i agree with EVERYONE, and can't add any original thoughts. You do sooooo much for the animals and apparently soooo much for your ex. When do you do things for you? I hope your current b.f. sees your beauty, inside and out, and that he puts you on a pedestal so high you can never get down. Let go of the ex. There may have been loads of good times, but sadly, it sounds like the war changed him A LOT. He's not who he was when you met him and fell in love with him. He's tragically broken, a victim of the horrible war, and without help, he's poison to you. I feel very sorry for his bride and baby. They are probably in for some very rough times.

I can't believe that! I have pilled nearly feral cats - twisting, hissing, biting, clawing - I got hurt but NEVER the cat. I don't believe for one second that it happened when they were giving him a pill. I wouldn't pay them a cent, and in fact, they should expect to get every medical bill that is incurred by repairing poor Corbyn's leg. HORRIBLE!!

Lin, congrats on the new place - enjoy! Sorry to hear that you still have a pup with your ex. I didn't know that. That really sucks.

Mommabear - screw him. He doesn't get to see the dog. Bear will get over it. Get him a giant bully stick instead. Same thing, right?  :P

That is an awesome crew! However, you must get absolutely no end of ridiculous unsolicited retardo comments from passersby, huh?
