This food is sold through the vet and promoted by the vet that is why they want you to buy it . Not only that it is crap food check out the ingredients Orjen has top of the line ingredients stick to what works ! Marina

Have any of you had vet experiences like this?  How bad is Prescription Hills D/D food anyway?

Well to be be perfectly honest what do we have now? The mod really made the site and even the decisions they had to make really that is what held the site together. We all shared our stories and heartaches, pet injuries and pet passing over the the rainbow bridge. The support we have given each other won't be the same ever again. I am saddened by this day and still encourage everyone to stick together on another site! Marina

 ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

The sad part about it is i think i would like him to become part of my crew i never wanted a small dog but he is such a clean slate and it is just amazing everything that is new to him! Grass everything i just take for granted a dog should know. I had him on the grass yesterday and he was kicking up and snorkeling the cutest thing you had ever seen! Owen loves everyone. My cats love him but the others ??? ??? ??? ??? They look at me like he better just be visiting!

Why didn't my post get deleted since it was apparently so taken out of context??????????

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Rescued a Pom!
« on: June 10, 2009, 01:39:50 pm »

I rescued a Pom on Monday from Ohio he came from a puppy mill! He is 6 months old and never lived outside his create. He is black and white and very sweet after everything he has been trough. His white fur around his rear area was stained yellow. He had never been in a car and was a perfect angel i brought a crate but never had to put him in it! I have taken him to the vet and he is under weight 6 pounds. He is painfully shy and everything is new.Right now he is in my office hanging out in his crate. The cats are very interested in him Mab was in the create checking him out.I took him to have him groomed today and they said he was a perfect angel!
Next i will have him neutered and all of his shots he does not even know what the grass is and he thinks he has to go in his crate since that is the only place he has gone. Owen has a lot to learn! Marina

Wow.

I am stunned.
I am disappointed.
I am hurt.
I am appalled.
I am disgusted.

I cannot deny my feelings and as my mom always told me during my teenage disagreements with her “these are my feelings and I am entitled to them.” With that said, please allow me to share.

I have been a BPO member since June 2005. I stumbled onto this sight by chance and am so grateful. Never having been a member of any sort of forum, I didn’t know what to expect. Quickly the other members embraced me and my dogs and all our issues. We’ve shared the best of times and the toughest of times. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you all. BPO’ers have become more than fellow members, they’ve become part of my extended family.

Again, while I am thankful for Jaime and Michael for starting this site, I cannot believe the callus disregard for all the members, with the sale of our home to non-members, non-dog owners on the other side of the world. What a blatant slap in the face to the moderators, for whom this site would not have existed as the truly special place is… oh I’m sorry, I mean WAS.

I understand we as members did not own the site, however we have ALWAYS rallied to support each other and you, Michael and Jaime… esp. during difficult financial times and every time you needed our input otherwise. Never once have we let you two down! I wish I could say the same for you. I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t give us the chance first to pool our vast resources, instead of selling to some random people with a dubious reputation. I’ve done the research and what I have seen is not good. I would like to think you didn’t know the history, but it wouldn’t surprise me now if you both just didn’t care.

To the new owners: best of luck to you, you are going to need it!

To the old owners: best of luck to you too... and good day!

To Bear: much love.

To my fellow BPO’ers, old and new: you all are THE best. I appreciate each of you.

Eloquently written CNRachel.

Thank you!
Patty

Ditto i am lost for words i have been on and off the site since 2005. I was happy to find a site that we could exchange our stories and health issues with each other. Sometimes i didn't always agree with peoples opinion but that is why the site is here for us to share are animal stories our families growing and moving on praying and keeping family members in our daily thoughts. There is no way a family in India could possibly understand this and not even have a family dog. This is a business transaction
only.It is really sad the way it was presented who is to say we all couldn't start our own site everyone knows what goes into it at least it would be ours! Marina and Bryce

Today as any day i find forever homes for my rescues is bitter sweet. Miles now has a family a fenced in yard and a Brother Bentley! Bentley is a Pitt / West Highland Terrier Brindle! Very cute small Miles adores his new gremlin looking brother. They take them to dog parks and they live right near the Zoo which has a large park i couldn't have ask for more.Miles is home i had difficulty from the foster mother and she is no longer my foster mother unfortunately. She went behind my back and called his new Mom and ask if she could keep him to Sunday after all the plans were made for me to pick him up this am at 9:30am for me to take him to his new home and then for me to leave town for a dog transport today and tomorrow. This is not the first time she has tried to change things around without asking me first. She informed me this am he had sour stomach and we should wait a day before taking him to his new home. She has given me problems with the other fosters including wanting to keep a dog that i promised to my Vet Tech after he went to his forever home she ask to get him back because she was the only one that could care for him. I had to explain she would have to call her up and ask for him she has kids and i wasn't going to be the one to ask for him back.He had been there a day and the kids had bonded with him she said no. I said to her you know all you would have had to do is ask me before i gave her to them. She has told me over and over she could not afford or care for a dog. I feel terrible but my plate is over flowing i have 2 Doxies coming next week and one is blind in one eye now i have to send them to another foster home.  :o :o :o :o :o

Oh wow! I'm glad she's okay. If you don't mind me asking what kind of dog food was it? And mites are tiny aren't they? How are you suppose to tell?

From the vet they check the stool and if you don't know what your looking for chances are it will be over looked! The food it was in is Solid Gold the mites are in the grains. Even thought the food had not expired the store did refund and was very apologetic this is becoming something more common in the vets office! She is doing very well and i am so glad she is such a drama queen!

I had to rush my little rescue Skoshe to the vet yesterday for 2 days she had  liquid diarrhea and was throwing up. I brought her stool sample in since she should have 1 more worming. Well according to the vet after dong testes on her stool she had been poisoned from her food there were mites in the food and this is becoming a more common but if you don't know what your looking for it can be passed over. My friend also bout the same food for his dog and she also was ill but because she was larger she didn't get as ill. Skoshe was given an injection for the vomiting and 3 meds. I am glad i didn't wait to take her. She is doing pretty good today the brave little girl she is a JRT/Doxie mix

Will scrubbing her down make her magically not pregnant?  :)  Maybe chase away the little dog sperm?

Lin you are so funny is that like being a little pregnant?
