The nipping thing is the thing I would worry about. Aren't Malamutes rather high energy outdoor dogs who need a lot of activity so they don't become to rambunctious? I'm not really sure what you mean by telling him off. Is there a good trainer in town? No matter how good our intentions are a trained looksee can really help.
As for the socs, I'd keep them out of reach and maybe he should be put in another room while you eat for now. Being able to cause you to become frustrated and make eating a meal unpleasant can't be good for your digestion and is giving him more power than he needs.

Mine like electronics - tia has destroyed more of my ipod ear buds than I can count and lucy ate my MSI netbook charger plug thing. I can't remember what it's called. She actually did me a favor, when best buy couldn't replace it they told me to pick out another netbook and I got a much better eee pc netbook.  My daughter went through a period where she would try and eat books.

I don't like my dogs not to have a soft place either. You might try some cotton rugs that you can pile and then wash if the get icky.  I did that for lucy when I took her to my mothers since my mother only has 2 beds for 7 dogs. Lucy is staying with her now while I am taking care of my dad after his knee replacement, but lucy has made her own compromise - she crawls into bed with my mother at night

I have no idea, but there might be someone at animal control who would know.

Thought I would send you some pix of our pyr/collie. Don't ask me why he looks so depressed, he is around 10 and can still play hard with the young ones.  I think he was being dramatic.

OMG!  Those poor babies, what in the world happened? You did a such a good thing. If they do not make it, I hope you take some comfort in that you have been able to give them full bellies and some comfort. I'm sticking with the pyrenees, Lucy impressed me so much at the dog park today.  She ended up knocking over a 2 year old, but she was trying to do the right thing and protect the child when the mother stupidly brought her 2 small children in and let them wonder around while big dogs charged around.  I went right to the child and told the mother that letting the child down wasn't a good idea and she answered that the child had grown up (grown up???) with big dogs. (I'm not usually such a b word, but I was pissed) The mom came in with what looked like a pit and Dane mix that quickly got into a fight with another pit mix (I mention the breed because of the damage they can do, not because I believe they are bad dogs) When the 2 dogs started to fight Lucy ran quickly to the 2 year old and stood sideways the way guard dogs do, in front of the child. Lucy ended up knocking her over because the fighting dogs got really close and Lucy tried to move further away.  The mom picked up the poor little girl and left after she got her dog. Lucy tried her best. I'm sure the Anatolians are great dogs, but I'm sticking with pyrs. I am not going to take it well when I have to give Lucy back. thanks for the into though. I didn't know that anatolians were less likely to wonder - interesting.
