Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:

Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.

If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.

They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.

The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.

The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.

WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.

Some of you will be getting this email a second time.  To those that this is new please let me know what you can do to help.  and PLEASE CROSS POST.

From: Shirley McCullough <eileenelder999@yahoo.com>

I just got word that a puppy mill raid is about to happen in the next 2 weeks.  It is in Crawfordville, FL. 150 animals, 50 have rescue (although we are still looking for foster homes!!).  We need to get out another 100, they have to have spots before the raid, animal control will put them down same day.

I have emailed a lot of you that are off breed, but the 2 rescues that have stepped up with 25 dogs each are not small dog rescues.  German Shepard Rescue of Central Florida is the rescue that contacted me. Raye is taking 25 dogs into her rescue, she is expecting to have her dogs in rescue the 7th of Feb.

Breeds are Yorkies, poodles, chis, multese, min pins, pappions, Multipoos. I have no idea how many are pregnant, ages or condition.

If you can't help with taking a group of animals can you foster? can you transport for those that will be going out of state, and if you can't foster can you help with costs, all these animals are going to have vet bills whereever they end up.

Please contact me with your information and what you can do to help and
PLEASE CROSS POST.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Dear God,
« on: January 26, 2009, 03:13:31 am »

I am sure many of you have seen this before i think it is very cute!

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith, and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, "To Meredith" ...in an unfamiliar hand writing. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, "When a Pet Dies". Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.
Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Love God

When i dropped Bryce off at school Friday he is excited as always! They had so much ice build up on the roof the workers were scurrying to get it off. I had my hands full of Bandannas they are going to sell at the school and one of the roof men went to hold the door for me and as he reached up to touch the door behind me Bryce saw him lift his arm up behind me to hold the door and he must of thought he was going to do something to me turned around so fast i didn't see it coming knocked me down and bit a hole throw the the mans glove! Shocking but true i never let go of him and the man backed off real fast i got up and told Bryce he was very bad. I gave him to the teacher who missed the whole thing thank god and came back and told the man i was sorry i think he was embarrassed and angry i explained to him that Bryce was very protective of me and he might of thought he was going to hurt me.Later when i came to pick him up one of the teachers told me the man would like a new pair of gloves oh lord please he is lucky he had them on! General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Sad Sad Story!
« on: January 19, 2009, 01:04:55 am »

Well i rescued a Carin Terrier/Yorkie Teacup! It is a very sad story. A woman was running a puppy mill out of her house she had quite a few dogs in the projects. A friend of mine had given me her phone # and said she needs to find homes for the 7 puppy's that were still alive. They were born at the end of Oct 2008.I was to meet her at 5:30pm and i arrived early there was a man that answered the door and told me that the woman i was looking for was not there he also informed me that they were not giving the pups away they were selling them for 700.00.I some how had miss placed my cell phone so i had no way to call her. He told me go down the street and use the phone it was 4 degrees out! So i went down the street to look for a phone i found one it did not work. I then went back to the house and the woman was there. They had garbage bags taped to the windows and the was no furniture in the home just the dogs in cages.
He comes over to me and says i can get 700.00 for these dogs i said i am not here to buy the puppies i am here to find them homes. She told me they never feed them dog food just people food when i ask. She finally let them out of there small crate and 6 tiny tails were running around plus the mom who looked like toto.I t really was said they were all malnourished and so tiny it broke my heart it took everything in me not to cry. The man said here you can have this one and hand me a urine covered brillo pad of a pup all you cold feel was bones.I put him in the car and came back to the door and ask them if i could give them some $ for dog food later on realizing they were never going to buy dog food with it. I have found a foster home for him he was starving and very thirsty and still through all of negligent his little tail just kept on wagging! Foster mom says he is really high spirited and loving being out of the crate he lived in. His little claws were turned under since they never let him out of the crate. I am going to post some pics and we are calling him Oliver for right now ! Marina

« on: January 11, 2009, 02:09:58 pm »
I just don't understand people i found a dog on petfinder for my friend even arranged free transport from a kind man traveling from Albany to Buffalo 1 person directly to Buffalo the woman who promised me the dog happily said she would have her ready on Sunday you can even read the email she sent me. Today when i called her to make sure the arrangements were set she told me she had given the dog to a man????????????????? I sensed she was in a hurry to get rid of the dog but why would she promise the dog to me and then give her to someone else? She told me she couldn't take care of her anymore they have a Lab as well and a new baby. The person who was looking forward to her arrival is heart broken and now i have to start all over in my search! Marina

Amanda please call me I will give your # to the transporter when he calls at 11 this am. He will be leaving Albany around 4 today thank you Marina

There is nothing more rewarding than the wag of a tail and a big sloppy kiss, from a dog who knows you are giving him that second chance of finding a forever home.

Does she have any bad habits? I am looking for a company for my ex husbands dog he is about 1 1/2 and full of energy. Is she crate trained? Can she be left on her own? He works out of his home and is gone maybe for 1 hr at a time during the day. His dog is on a  love and needs a playmate. Please tell me all you can about her and why you must rehome her. Thanks Marina

Do you know anyone looking to adopt a large dog?  One of the guys from work is trying to place their dog....wife and kids all have allergies and their doctor is saying it is the dog.

He is great with kids and they are heart broken.... but they need to find a home for him within the next week or so or he will have to go to a rescue group or the humane society.  My co-worker has exhausted all of his contacts and is really distraught so I said I would do what I could.....  I have attached some pics.

His name is Woody.....he is a boxer/shepherd mix, ~ 4 years old and has been fixed......

Please pass this on to anyone you know that might be interested. They can call me here at work and I will put them in touch with him.  Our number is 614-224-7141.  My cell number is 614-271-9879.

Thanks so much!
