Mixed Breed Discussion / Re: Moo Vs. Vacuum

hahahaha, cute! Max will run behind a door some where and peek out at the vaccume from around the corner.

oh, and welcome to the board! ;D

do you constantly watch your dogs body language? I am realy big on 'dog speak'. i dont mean, what do you think they are thinking, but what is their body doing...  exactly where are tails (still, moving...and high, low or straight) , heads (up or down) , ears (folded back or foreward) , fur (raised by shoulder blades, tail, and spine). how wide open are their eyes before it happens and are they blinking, yawning. watching their chests, what breathing pattern are they having (regular, holding breath). muscles tense? these little bittie signs can tell you exactly what's going on, and you will know who is in the wrong, no matter who lashed out first. you can read more about dog body language and what all of it means over the internet, or i suggest the book "dog speak". as regular interaction with your dogs, pay attention to how they always act, all the time, with every one, you will notice things that they are feeling and saying that you didnt recognise before. post more info on how they are actiing now that you've read this... it's hard to tell what's going on unless youre there.

wierd coincidence, guess what... Boog got neutered today too. poor babies, they'll be up to par in a fiew days. :-*

Boog is 8 months old and he weighed 106 at the vets yesterday
Max is 19 months old and he's about 160. he could use another 15 just to fatten him up a bit but he's h*ll bent on staying a beanpole

wow! that is realy bad all the way around! I think that alot of problems children have come from parents not following through. instead of her teaching her son right from wrong by showing him cause and effect she makes you guys sound scary to him? that's terrible.

oooooh other people's kids..... :-\

Labrador Retriever Discussions / on a more solemn note...

I'm posting this to tell every one that my husband and i decided that it was in Chevy's best interests to find a home that better suited his needs. As Boog has been growing like a complete weed and Max is the top dog, Chevy has become increasingly submisisve and anxious, not to us humans but to the other dogs. He was never attacked or 'bullied' by the other two but he is just of a MUCH MUCH softer nature than them. I've turned this over in my head for a long time. i think that between the size difference and the disposition that Chevy has he became very anxious. I hoped that it could work out. but i've decided that it is HIS best intrests that i need to keep in mind, not mine. and with that in heart i began a search for a better home for him. I've finaly found the right family. they live about 3 hours away, and they have a little 4 year old girl. It was a perfect match. so I've let my Chevy doodog go, in hopes that he can lead a more stress free life as an only dog. is bitter sweet...
