Monthly Photo Contests / Re: BPO Calendar information anyone???
« on: October 24, 2008, 05:16:02 am »
Thanks Holly. But what about this 800K business?  How do I know that the photo is close to that and, if not, change it?

Monthly Photo Contests / How to resize photo for calendar??
« on: October 24, 2008, 05:09:15 am »
Alright - I give up - I'm a photo-tard.  :P  ::) Although I'm getting much better at taking photographs, I know next to nothing about editing them. Specifically, I don't know how to dictate the size of the photo, as we need to do for the calendar picture submission. I've seen some amazing photography stuff on this site and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I have Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PictureIt, and Picasa. Can someone please help me figure out how to do this?

Thanks,
Jennifer

...blew her ear out.

Didn't know that could happen... sounds really painful. Hope she feels better soon.

We moved from the Boston Metro-West area to the Central/Western part of Massachusetts in April and maintained our relationship with our current vet (McGrath Animal Hospital in Billerica) through Bear's struggles, decline, and death. We're now considering changing vets to someone closer to our new home as the 4-hour round-trip is... taxing. So we're looking for a good vet in the following areas: Amherst/Northampton areas, Belchertown, Petersham, the Brookfields... Any referrals/recommendations are much appreciated.

Nakita would clean Bear's ears regularly and Bear loved it.  ::)

Leonberger Discussions / Re: Thoughts on prong collars? Need HELP!
« on: August 01, 2008, 07:38:17 pm »
I finally bought prong collars for my two when I was almost hit by a car while being dragged across a busy street by Bear, charging after another dog. Within one walk, his behavior was perfect. The prong - when properly fitted - simply reminded him to keep his attention on me. It just took the slightest movement of my wrist to get his attention, which I did when he didn't respond to my verbal command. He never mis-behaved again, and learned to respond to the verbal in order to avoid the slight pinch from my wrist action. My dog walker's 8-yr old daughter could walk Bear in complete confidence!

Nakita took a day or so longer but she also learned to respond to the command to avoid the pinch. She sometimes needs a refresher but it's sooooo worth it. They both were able to walk without stress and discomfort because of it.

Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes.

Oh - I wouldn't worry about Lily. Just sounds independent and confident to me. Just as a Pyr should be.  ;)

Nakita will come to the door to greet with kisses and demands for rubs. She's pretty good about giving space though. And she's excellent with visitors. And Charlie the cat sits on the kitchen island meowing 'til he gets a couple head-buts (goof).

Bear is a whole other story. He would position himself between me and the door from the mudroom into the house. I couldn't get by without a proper lean, rubs, and kisses. Then he was happy to accompany me to the kitchen for a lil' something. ::) I miss him. :-[

Hello and welcome! Your wolfies are as beautiful as your hats. I can't wear hats because my head's too BIG. :-\ But I can certainly appreciate your stunning craftsmanship.

I admit to a secret longing for irish wolfhoundsand can't wait to see more pics!
